HAL with PCManFM Help!

Okay, I have Openbox, but no GNOME/KDE. I installed HAL and used the wiki entry entitled "HAL" to set it up. I have myself set in "optical" and "storage" and have also tried the "preferences.fdi" trick which was mentioned in the wiki as well.

Now the problem is I use PCManFM and when I insert my USB stick the label shows up fine "Sandisk" in the side menu. However, when I double click on it PCManFM asks if I want to mount it. I click yes, then it says unable to mount. When I ran this test again from the console the output says "mount: can't find /dev/sdf1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab".

So, what is going on? When I had Ubuntu it worked so I know there is a way. Thanks! smile

Re: HAL with PCManFM Help!

Also I'm under the impression that HAL will keep you from editing the fstab manually. Is this true or is my problem simply that I need to place fstab entries in place? That would seem to defeat the purpose of HAL...

Re: HAL with PCManFM Help!

pmount let's you mount removable media as normal user, without the need to add those medias in /etc/fstab .
