Yet another XFCE icon post. When I installed XFCE, I found the icons ugly so I installed Tango with pacman -S tango-icon-theme. This put a Tango folder in /usr/share/icons but did not change what icons were used. So I copied the contents of the Tango folder into both the Rodent folder and the hicolor folder allowing all icons to overwrite.
I was incredibly stupid in doing this because it didn't send the old icons to Trash like it would if I had deleted them, they are simply gone - overwritten. So I noticed in the Terminal that red Xs appear beside open new terminal, open new tab, close, terminal and close tab. There are also red Xs beside help and all pictures down the lefthand side in Preferences. Admitedly I don't know if they were there before. When I used the terminal to do pacman -S tango-icon-theme, I was not paying attention.
So maybe I deleted them or maybe they were never there. The latter seems more likely to me now because I got xfce4-icon-theme, added those icons and the Terminal still had the same pictures missing. The UI files in /usr/share/Terminal did not point to where the icons were in the XML. It is likely that other apps which I have not yet explored are missing icons as well. Could XFCE users find out the path to those icons and point me to a package or website where I can get them?

Great things come in tar.xz packages.

If you reinstall the XFCE packages (no download needed if you haven't cleared the package cache), all the icons should come back.

You're right, after seeing that xfce4-icon-theme and hicolor-icon-theme did not fix the terminal no matter how many times I reinstalled them, I simply reinstalled Terminal. It reinstalled it from the mirror instead of the cache so I'm guessing it may have been out of date to begin with. The icons are all back so I'm guessing those particular ones aren't even in /usr/share/icons. I will implement the Tango theme again, but I'll back up the old set this time. Thanks.

You can specify the icon theme by going to XFCE's 'User Interface Preferences' and selecting the Icon theme from there.
