Conky hides to the background

Hi all, I searched the web for this, but did not found an answer.

I wanted Conky to have a "panel-like"-look, so I've set own_window to "yes and specified an background color for this window.
The problem now is, that if I use "show Desktop" respectively "minimize all", that conky also hides. I thought that the option "sticky" for the window would avoid this behaviour, but obviously it does not.

Is there a possibility to use own_window "no", background "yes" and still have a panel-like background color for conky, or a possibility to use own_window "yes" without conky hiding to the background?

Try using

own_window_type desktop

instead of

own_window_hints sticky

It works for me under Openbox.

Despite the fact that it is an old timer, and configured via parameters on the command or via X Resources,  you should check out xosview, which will show you most of what conky will do, without quite so much configurability. It is especially good for multi core machines, with one meter per CPU "right out of the box".

xosview is available in the Arch repos.
