[SOLVED] Wine + Steam + CS 1.6

Hello, and sorry for my bad english.

Info:
Latest wine compiled from git source (via AUR wine-git package, standard gcc flags)
Radeon r300 open driver (xf86-video-ati) DRI configured and working (Radeon 9800PRO)
AC'97 snd (nVidia nForce3 250GB)

The problem desc:
I have succesful setup of wine + steam + counter-strike 1.6, game is working very good...
But every time i play, after about 30min of gameplay, system freezes... And only thing i can do is sync and remount partitions (Thanks to SysRq) and hard reboot...

This is not so big problem, the game is working wery good, but reboot every 30min of game play is annoing... hmm

I've tryed to change sound ALSA/OSS and this not help (alsa-oss package installed)

Here is full console log while playing: http://pastebin.com/m3d4d0178

Any suggestions?

Re: [SOLVED] Wine + Steam + CS 1.6

This is most likely due to the r300 driver. Best you can do is to check if the problem appears with fglrx properitary driver. If it doesn't, you can then look for a help at the r300 dev mailing list I think.

err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7e3e2460 "x11drv_main.c: X11DRV_CritSection" wait timed out in thread 0017, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec)

Is that the last message _before_ the game hangs? If  so, it pretty much confirms my suspicion.

Also, which verision of xf86-video-ati are you using? Should you maybe try the 6.7.192-1 from testing?

Re: [SOLVED] Wine + Steam + CS 1.6

Thanks!
On xf86-video-ati from testing it works smile
But ati driver from testing requires xorg-server 1.3, on which my dual-monitor setup dont work...

But now this is no problem, when i play cs i use second xorg.conf with dual-head config off
[SOLVED]

Dual-monitor should work fine with xorg-server 1.4, which is comming out this week. May not be out-of-the-box type of experience, but the new xrandr features will improve the setting up of multi-monitor configurations a lot. Actually I wonder if the 1.3 can do the job already, play around with it a bit and maybe have some read about xrandr on the net.
