Qtparted hangs in latest kernel

Qtparted hangs in "scanning all disk partitions" when selecting the primary HDD or SDA1..

Qtparted upgraded recently.

May be a bug....

Re: Qtparted hangs in latest kernel

Upgrade this day of kdelibs and kdebase did not solve the Qtparted problem.

I suspect that libparted package is missing....

Re: Qtparted hangs in latest kernel

Qtparted is very buggy and hangs a lot. It has been this way for a long time. If you need graphical interface for parted use gparted. It is a lot more stable and more powerfull.

I recommend the same. qtparted has had a lot of problems.

I use gparted exclusively now. Works like a charm.

Re: Qtparted hangs in latest kernel

Downloaded and installed gparted.

Entered gparted as root in CLI.

Gparted scanned only the hard drive in my system.

Qtparted lists the hdd and two usb flash drives.

Cannot use gparted unless it lists all parttitions in all usb drives.

EDIT:  The other drives must be selected.  I understood that the program scanned ALL drives but I find that I must select each drive separately.  Then all is hunky-dory!!!

Thanks for the replies!!

Original problem not solved but circumvented>>>>>>>>
