XM Radio Online worked before my rebuild.. :( [Fixed, but follow-up Q)

SO I'm an avid XM Radio listener and loved being able to play it online in Linux using mplayer/mplayer-plugin... But after installing those packages, along with the codec one, it'll load, but then it'll never play the music.  So there's a play button that mplayer puts in there, and when it loads it says "Playing", then goes to "Stopped" quickly and clicking the Play button does nothing.  Can anyone help troubleshoot this?  Loading 'about:plugins' in Firefox shows that mplayerplug-in is loaded.  I just have no idea why it won't actually play the audio.

I fixed my own problem.

Apparently, mplayer and its plugins aren't even loading windows audio formats in Firefox -- Totem is.  The fix was to remove Totem and add Totem-xine.

So, new question -- how do I make mplayer handle these types of files instead of totem?
