Seems like an interesting distro, I'm still hesitant to try it though. I am satisfied with arch, but I always wondered about those compile everyting distros. I've tried and use gentoo, and I just didn't like it. But for some reason lunar linux is catching my eye. If anyone has tried ti, I'd love to hear a quick review . From what I understand, in a lot of ways it's like arch linux, nothing but a base system. The major difference is that everything is self-compiled.

no offence but eeww no. if i were to use a compiling disro that would be arch
There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Tried it about a year ago, but tbh didn't give it much of a chance. I had some problems with their build system, AFAIR - the wlan-ng driver build appeared to fail, but the *.ko was built so I kludged it in to get my wifi going. Look in their bugtracker - I posted something, and they said they wouldn't fix it.
That was about it, really - I think I tried Frugal after that........

to take this a bit further and , only partly, justify my first reply
a compiling distro imho needs to have 2 things
a failry large userbase
and EXCELLENT documentation
i dont think a linux distro has yet achieved both, not even gentoo in its glory days
what comes closer would be freebsd but that aint linux
taking the above into consideration i would prefer compiling myself all packages in arch which is simple and its easy to customise and build the packages just the way u want em to. plus its a system u are familiar with

What do I get when I install the ISO?
[...]The only service running is secure shell (ssh), and root logins are expressly prohibited! [...]
And how can I install stuff?

With su from a normal user's account.

oh yes... you can do `su', but not `su -' I guess.... I sounds so crazy...

No, you can su - as well, you just cannot log in directly as root through ssh.
