Wireless RT2500 Compile Probs

I have downloaded the CVS Snapshot and the stable (official) source from the Ralink website for the RT2500 Wireless network adapter. When I have tried to compile it comes up with a load of errors and refuses to compile. Can anyone help?
Thanks

In order for someone to help, they will most definitely need a coded error log from you, and any other information you can supply. smile

Re: Wireless RT2500 Compile Probs

Well it seems to be something to do with a mac file but I'm not sure how to get the output into a file from the command line - I run "make" and it pours out errors but I can't cat them and they don't appear in a log file. Is there anyway to get them into a file that I can post here?

I have just done a base install, followed the beginners wiki up until the update pacman point where you  need an internet connection and i'm stuck here. Not sure what other info I can give just now. I know the wireless works in Ubuntu and Windows.

Re: Wireless RT2500 Compile Probs

b0ng0 there are packages in arch's repository. There are the legacy and there is rt2x00. The needed patch to compile these are also in the repository.

the regular legacy driver is in the repository. pacman -S rt2500

enable Unstable for the cvs rt2500 driver.

pacman -S rt2x00-cvs or
rt2x00-cvs-ck
rt2x00-cvs-suspsend2

Re: Wireless RT2500 Compile Probs

Sorry forgot to mention I can't access the internet any other way apart from wireless at the moment so I can't download packages unless they're i the AUR. The only ralink one I can see that is useful is the one called the rt2x00 and no other files (in the AUR).

I can't find a patch anywhere sad

Should I try the legacy rt2500 from serialmonkey's page? Thank you

Re: Wireless RT2500 Compile Probs

I would suggest you try the CVS/beta release of the rt2500 driver from rt2x00.serialmonkey.com .
And if your're brave you could even try the rt2x00 CVS ( big_smile )

Re: Wireless RT2500 Compile Probs

Okay it's cool, I was trying to use the rt2x00 drivers as suggested in the Arch Wiki. However, the rt2500 drivers were the ones I needed. So we're now up and running in KDEMod big_smile

Thanks
