k3b DVD burning doesn't work

Hi.

I've tried to burn a DVD today, and k3b can't do it because wichever DVD I put in the burner, it doesn't see it. If I put a CD, it does works.

Using growisofs , I can burn the DVD.

Does someone else experienced this issue (and solve it) ?

Infos:
Archlinux : 2007.08 (up to date)
cdrkit 1.1.6-1
dvd+rw-tools 7.0-2
k3b 1.0.3-2
kdelibs 3.5.7-5

Re: k3b DVD burning doesn't work

I've had the dvd burning issue with k3b across multiple distros for some time now. I'm using dvd rw's, and it just won't work period. I've been using brasero for dvd's with success.

I had the same problem.  Do you have HAL listed as a daemon in rc.conf?  That fixed it for me.

Yes Hal is launched, DBUS too.
Furthermore, when I use dbus-monitor, I can see the messages about the DVDs when I insert/eject them.
