Well just an update on my status. I tried it via the icon approch with compiz-kde-git installation. Everything is working good and well now, so thanks for your help There is only one problem now, and thats with ccsm. it is always failing starting so I cannot really customize anything. If I run it via the icon, or through the console it wont start. Console does however provide some feedback on the problem. When I run ccsm I get the python error...
(ccsm:14431): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale.
Info: No sexy-python package found, don't worry it's optional.

Anyone encountered this error before? Im experiencing it on both my laptop and desktop again.

@Millson249: You have to setup your locales, as described here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Configuring_locales (actually, this is part of the installation script, but apparently you skipped that config file)
@Everyone: My Expo plugin is not working. When I try to activate it, I get:
compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't load plugin 'expo'
which is not exactly descriptive I run up to date Arch and Gnome. Compiz Fusion is, of course, from the repository announced here (the 'git' version).

crakie, no idea on your expo issue. All I can say is to try updated packages.

and aur pls.

once, there's no reason to update the aur pkgbuilds all the time. Since they do not checkout a certain dates git. The dates in aur just mean the last time the pkgbuild was updated.

@nesl247 and once: Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does the 'git' version mean? Also, once I removed the git version, should I install the equivalent 'non-git' packages from the repo, selecting the Gnome edition if applicable? Currently, I have installed:

is there a problem with the repo? i can't access it.

crackie, the git version is a checkout of git that is done when I build, so it's the latest development code.
Shemeta, try again later, I'm currently moving servers, so the dns might not be resolved yet.

I will fix it as soon as I can. I'm having a few issues with my hard drive which linux resides on, so once I fix it (within a few days), I'll fix the PKGBUILD. Sorry for the delay.
it was your post on aur in compiz-kde-git, isnt it?
Offline
Completely forgot about that. Email me about it and I'll fix it later. I'm currently trying to get dns stuff up and running for the new server.

I'm having the oposite: the tray icon shows but every other in ccsm doesn't with today's update

The icons should work with the 0902 ones that I just uploaded about 10 min ago.

Had the same problem. The icon gets intalled in the hicolor iconset, so either use this one (looks ugly) or copy the icons to the iconset you use (lots of work) or just inherit the hicolor theme in your icon theme (easy solution). Therefore in index.theme
Inherits=hicolor
Anyways, I'm using your repo nesl247 and want to thank you for your good work.

0830-0902 seems had heavy cpu loading, anyone?

Not here... it' s 0.3 - 0.7 % of cpu load

Trying to get Compiz-Fusion running on my new laptop (Thinkpad X31, Radeon Mobility M6). I'm using the open-source drivers, and everything works well except for one thing.
Certain parts of my display will corrupt, and the corruption with switch from one part of the display to another. Here's a screenshot:
Any ideas?
P.S. the icon doesn't display properly either. I know it's a known bug, and it doesn't particularly bother me.

Oddly enough, the corruption disappeared after a reboot. Icon still doesn't show up, but who cares?

apewall, that's the 64bit repo, I've no idea when/if it's working, as I do not have anything to do with it other than providing the pkgbuilds and hosting it.

The x86_64 repo has been borked for awhile now. Just download the PKGBUILDs and do a makepkg. It's pretty easy and last time I did it no changes had to be made.
