Suspend2 slow at Doing atomic copy

It's just like the title says, everything works fine except that when suspending the system is very slow during "Doing atomic copy". :?

The machine is a Vaio VGN-C2S/H:
*Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66MHz)
*1GB Ram 533Mhz
*120gb hard drive
*Intel GMA950

Re: Suspend2 slow at Doing atomic copy

Have you set FullSpeedCPU to yes in /etc/hibernate/suspend2.conf??

Here everything runs fast.

Re: Suspend2 slow at Doing atomic copy

Isn't it still the problem with nohz/highres-timers (http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/7125?str … ect=1&type)? I have a similar problem with suspending, but the systems freezes at atomic copy until I press Enter for several times. But there is imho no solution. Probably we have to wait for the next suspend2/tuxonice release.

Re: Suspend2 slow at Doing atomic copy

That's not normal. I have two machines here running suspend2 kernel and on both "atomic copy" runs fast. I'll see what I can find out about that problem...
I didn't know that there was a bug report on this. Thomas (brain0) didn't signed it to me, beacuse I'm the new maintainer of suspend2 kernel.

Re: Suspend2 slow at Doing atomic copy

If it's helpful, here are some of my datas:

Sasmung Q35 Bamit
* Intel Core2Duo T5600
* 1.024 MB PC2-5300
* 120 GB SATA 5.400 UPM
* Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 950

I have this problem with kernel 2.6.21 and 2.6.22, but after disabling the nohz/highres all is working. But no, this isn't an option tongue

Re: Suspend2 slow at Doing atomic copy

Gonna try that workaround on my laptop to see if it's the same issue. Report back as soon as I try it.

EDIT: It did it, suspend2 is fast when using those switches... guess that makes another computer with the same issue, any help I can give just ask.
