I'm on a T43p and when I run Xorg -configure, I get
caught signal 11. Server aborting.So far I have been following http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI … Kernel_2.6
but I can't get the xorg.conf file created to use aticonfig.
Has anyone experienced this problem?

Thanks for the thinkwiki reference but I had already checked that out. Maybe the problem lies with the fact that mine is the 43p... I'm not sure. I haven't found a post yet where a user was not even able to get an xorg.conf produced by Xorg -configure.
I haven't tried the other servers yet but I'll do that (if I can figure it out... I'm just going by the wiki instructions for setting up Arch so far)

although I can't really help, I get the same thing on a laptop I am setting up for somebody else - this is with an X1600 mobile.
i copied the config from my own laptop with an X1400, which works ok except it doesn't seem to be using a high colour resolution (based on the banding of the archlinux background when kdm starts up!!)
