HP3420 printer

Hi you there,
Im trying to set up that printer HP deskjet 3420 like so:

First way:
     pacman -S cups foomatic-db-hpijs
      KDE Menu -> Control Center -> Peripherals -> Printers -> Administrator mode -> Add printer
     everything seems to be fine, but when i press "Test" nothing happens.

Second way:

    $ kcmshell printers
      Add printer -> set the hp printer -> and when i try to Test, that error below comes in the terminal:
       perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
       perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
    LANGUAGE = (unset),
    LC_ALL = (unset),
    LC_COLLATE = "C",
    LANG = "en"
       are supported and installed on your system.
       perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

but if after running the $kcmshell printers n if i do click in Administrator mode, works fine, none error comes out, but it also does not print !
what is going on ???
Any idea ?
thanks in advance.

Re: HP3420 printer

Install hplip if it's a HP printer.
