We are using Eclipse 3.3 and it works correctly on all Linux distributions (Fedora, Slackware, Debian, etc...) but hangs on my Arch when I open new Java Project.
Previous versions of Eclipse work correctly.
Could you verify that on your computer?
PS. I found one post about similiar problem, but I have lo up

Problem fixed after debugging with strace and wireshark, new Eclipse connects to java.sun.com for some reason, and my DNS configuration was broken.

Problem was related to my network configuration, for some reason I had invalid /etc/resolv.conf.

Mhh its a little bit curios. My resolv.conf is ok.
But when i use strace i see that Eclipse use a wrong ip to connect.
Here the strace output:
connect(76, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(631), sin_addr=inet_addr("192.168.1.4")}, 16
But my hostaddress is 192.168.1.2 and my DNS address is 192.168.1.1.
