I give up

I installed Arch a few months ago as my 3rd try at linux. While I really liked the control it gives me over my system, I was looking for something with more and easier to install packages. After trying Sabayon, Debian 4, K/Ubuntu, SLED, Fedora, I give up. I'm back to Arch and gonna suck it up and learn how to make my own packages using AUR abs etc.

So you win. wink

Re: I give up

Good stuff. Although I have to say, in terms of easyness to install packages, pacman (when it resumes working for me tongue) is a lot faster and easier than a more GUI oriented package manager such as apt.

Agree completely, just those packages that are not (and prolly never will be) in the current/extra/community repositories are kinda a pain. Well, just like marriage you take the good along with those parts you don't like.

Have you tried Yaourt? http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … hans=&SeB=
Makes finding and installing AUR stuff a bit easier.
