starting x at boot with e17

when i start up arch i wanna go straight to entrance. the wiki only mentions gdm, kdm, and xdm. maybe someone could "enlighten" me on how to set this up with e17 and entrance.

what repo are you using? on the thakis repo you simple add entranced to rc.d daemons..

i am using e17 from the community repo. I would like to use the runtime method (editing /etc/inittab) instead of the daemon method.

Try putting the required command into /etc/inittab, as shown in the wiki for gdm/kdm/xdm.

Our wiki, like other wikis, is community-generated, and while this is the best way to deal with documentation in a project like Arch, it does mean that the wiki is not necessarily authoritative on any particular subject. In this case, the fact that entrance is not included on that page does not mean that entrance doesn't work in that way.

When you get it going, feel free to update the wiki accordingly.
