Boot problem with Archlinux 2007.08I had this problem too. It was solved by following steps:
1) at initial boot prompt I entered "arch --disablehooks=arch-addons"
2) it boots normally and I got virtual console prompt. When I tried running "/arch/setup", I found my hard drive is not detected. Then I executed "hwdetect --load-modules" in a separate virtual console. I again did "/arch/setup" and this time everything ran smoothly.
From an other report on forum the solution for the boot issue.
I'll try to fix this issue in upcoming ISO and archboot.
I'm not available for 3 weeks so this workaround is the only solution.

Yeah, NTFS is totally broken in this release. Manual NTFS mounting (via the mount command) doesn't work either, it just freezes the whole system.

new isos wil show up soon, without the nasty ntfs regression, support in addons has been disabled now.
also disablehooks works now as it should.
