trying to get some sound working

so i fixed my internet issue at home on my box running arch linux. ended up putting dd-wrt firmware on my router, so now i can forward the gateway address from the router to my pc running ICS sharing my dialup.....oh yeah, its high tech

so anyway, now i've got that working properly, i'd kind of like to get my sound card working on this box. its got a creative ensoniq in it. i have no idea what to do

after that, my next project in all my newbness is going to be figuring out how to install unsupported packages from the repo

Re: trying to get some sound working

Your sound card should work without any problems.

Just run alsaconf as root and then setup volumes in alsamixer. To save mixer settings use: alsactl store.

Re: trying to get some sound working

dunno if it's possible, but maybe you can compile kmix without the rest of kdemultimedia
