does your dark theme works with openoffice without it going into ugly default mode?
I ask because I'm looking for a dark theme but they all make openoffice fugly and I use oo a lot.

Don't know, I like it and don't think it's ugly at all but look for yourself (a screen is worth a thousand word):

oows3.th.jpg

The icons are standard ones and I use only the "export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome" in bashrc to improve the integration with gnome/gtk. Oh btw, the gtk theme is Clearlooks DarkNiceTM

Wow, what an amazing theme!

(Yes, that's sarcasm, since you don't have a single application visible.)

Indeed it look good, every time I try a dark theme OO turns color and icons to contrast mode instead of keeping the colors and icons I set. I try the export line in bashrc and it still doesn't work. Maybe your theme is not dark enough, I tried the Laza theme

I did some research and I found out that it is a bug of OO to revert to Contrast Mode with a dark theme... not only is it ugly OO keeps crashing for all the wrong reasons... Oh well! I'm struck with light themes.

I've seen young people waste their time reading books about sensitive vampires. It's kinda sad. But you say it's not the end of the world... Well, maybe it is!

Re: September 2007 Screenshots

ive never released either of them..
I ported the gtk from clearlooks to rezlooks.. never changed the name hence the mistake in my urxvt.
The openbox theme is one i did for another wall that ive been using regardless of a wallpaper switch.
neither of them is anywhere near polished to a point id consider releasing them at all..
but since i know you from bb4win.. and in case anyone wants em here they are

Re: September 2007 Screenshots

Here is my brand new Arch Gnome desktop on my old laptop:

I used Arch art found at gnome-look.org and the Murrine Deviant GTK and Metacity theme.

Though it's far away from finished, I feel like it's time to present my current setup. (:

The WM is xmonad, the statusbar are actually two instances of dzen2, which are displaying the output of xmonad's DynamicLog extension and an self-written bash script.

love the colours, any chance you could post 'em ? cool

does your dark theme works with openoffice without it going into ugly default mode?
I ask because I'm looking for a dark theme but they all make openoffice fugly and I use oo a lot.

Don't know, I like it and don't think it's ugly at all but look for yourself (a screen is worth a thousand word):

http://img475.imageshack.us/img475/8512/oows3.th.jpg

The icons are standard ones and I use only the "export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome" in bashrc to improve the integration with gnome/gtk. Oh btw, the gtk theme is Clearlooks DarkNiceTM

Under Options->Openoffice.org->Accessibility, uncheck "Automatically detect high contrast mode of operating system" for OO 2.2.x

Or use OO 2.3 from testing (or the SVN if you have a few hours to kill).  It does not equate dark themes with high contrast anymore.

Been there done that... Apparently it works well in ubuntu but nobody seems to know why and I'm not about to change Arch to ubuntu (which I don't like anyway!) just for some colors in OOo.
Arch has been my favorite distro since i massively crashed Slackware and I'm sticking to it.

Plus I have to many projects to work on and no time to kill on a SVN version.
