I am using openbox + thunar, and when I try to acess a cd-rom, I get this error:
Given device "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/temp/159" is not a volume or drive.
Little screenshot of the problem: http://i7.tinypic.com/52p5qx1.png
I can acess usb flash drive, this problem only happens when I try to acess a cd rom. Any ideia how to fix this? Hal, dbs and thunar-volman are installed.

Have you commented out the CD/DVD listings in /etc/fstab? That does the trick for me... for example:
# /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
# /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd udf ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
I realize this may not be what's causing that specific error message, but in the past I received similar messages about the CD-ROM not matching blah blah format, etc. It's worth a try anyway. Good luck.

I don't know why, but its working now! o.O
I have not commented these lines when I installed HAL some weeks ago, I have deleted them. Now I added this lines again in fstab, commented them out and its working!
But I can only eject the cd-rom drive if I use "eject cd-rom" in thunar or type eject /dev/cdrom in terminal. If I press the cd-rom drive button, the drive do not eject.
