Console beep causes hard lockup

Hi,

I'm having a nasty problem with Arch. Each time I cause a console beep, my system becomes completely unresponsive. I haven't had this trouble with any other distro I've run (Gentoo, openSuSE 10.2, several LiveCDs) or with Windows. I've had this happen on each Arch release I've tried, including 0.8, 2007.5, and 2007.8. I don't know what to do, and I would appreciate any help. smile

Re: Console beep causes hard lockup

u can blacklist the pcspkr if u can afford it by adding it to blacklist () modules array of rc.conf
