Hello, i have a problem when i try to select packages from a mirror using a floppy disk. I always get this error (from all mirrors):
Error fetching package list from server
What that means? can i fix it?
I want to install arch on an old pc (it has only floppy disk support).
Thanks...

According to the front page the recent changes to the repositories breaks FTP installations. I would guess that's the problem.

It's recommended to perform a base install now, but i doubt very much you can install base from floppies.
You can wait until a new version of the installer is released.
If you have a free ide connector in this pc, you could attach any cdrom player temporarily for the install.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

i was hoping to do a fresh install from floppies on my other machine (laptop), but now that they've made these changes to the repositories it's a no-go. i guess i'll have to try out a debian floppy install
i seem to recall having problems when i originally created my arch floppies.. so i guess i'll have to figure out that business again (writing the images with dd didn't seem to work; can't remember how i fixed it..)
I've seen young people waste their time reading books about sensitive vampires. It's kinda sad. But you say it's not the end of the world... Well, maybe it is!
