[Request] a laptop specific kernel

Hi!

I haven't been having good luck with kernel compilation ever but I would really like someone to compile one with a few patches for laptops, namely linux-phc (processor undervolting) and TuxOnIce/suspend2.

Nice but not necessary are fbsplash (modern laptops have a lot of different resolutions and vga=795 (1280x1024) doesn't necessarily look good on a 1920x1200 screen. wink What else? While still compatible, ck1!! big_smile

All of this and more used to be provided by the -beyond kernel editions but they were discontinued. sad

Thanks for reading!

A kernel with TuxOnIce/suspend2 is already in extra repo : kernel26suspend2

And there are various patched kernel PKGBUILDs in the AUR as well - see if any of them would suit you.

Re: [Request] a laptop specific kernel

Try Kamikaze. (Available in AUR as kernel26kamikaze)

It has both of those, and also several other laptop-specific fixes, including powertop.  I should warn you if you're using a recent dell laptop (as I am) you may need to reverse the thinkpad fixes, as they cause an oops on boot.
