For those of you that are having issues with the first day of the week appearing as Monday instead of Sunday:
Edit /usr/share/i18n/locales/LOCALE (where LOCALE is the locale you use)
Look for a line that starts with this: LC_TIME
Right after that line, add this: first_weekday 1
This may require a reboot to take effect, but it should make xfcalendar, gnome-calendar, and orage all display Sunday as the first day of the week, instead of Monday.

It's the OSS philosophie to give the user the choice over the whole system. Everyone is free to start his/her week on whenever he/she wants to - I'm going to start mine on saturday. Two free days are perfect to start a new week! 8)

I've been trying to get my weeks started on Monday for probably 2 years now -- nothing works, including the solution described here.
Any suggestions?
