Nice & Short: Are the actual FTP-Install-ISOs usable again?
Thanks in advance.

No. For doing a ftp installation, you need to wait for the next release. Use the base installation CD.

Is the BASE-CD already fixed for the repo-changes especially the new CORE-Repo?
Or will I have to customize /etc/pacman.d/*?

azerty now that's a good question...I would think the first time you pacman -Syu it would update pacman first and then you'd be ok. I could be wrong and if I am doh that's gonna stink for new installs..

at the moment i try to fix all this [ core ] stuff for upcoming iso, i cannot give you an exact date, i try to get everything working this weekend.

azerty: As already stated multiple times in different places, pacman will work for some time with an old configuration, so there won't be breakage. The only thing broken is the ftp installation, as it looks for files which don't exist anymore.
tpowa: 2.6.23 should be out next week, so we should be able to get the new isos out in 2 or 3 weeks. I suggest we don't add a DVD/extra release now, but in a later release (maybe as a Christmas present).

Perhaps the fact that the FTP install is broken should be made visible on the "Get Arch" page?

a friend of mine just installed arch using the ftp install a few hours ago...

well post your menu.lst, difficult to guess what went wrong

I got exactly the same error and have the same problem as MaikelG.
I tried out some little things and made some changes to the boot parameters, but GRUB fails to find the kernel26.img each time. I think the installers didn't install any Kernel, as there wasn't any 'Install Kernel' in the install script's menu.
There are also 2 small bugs I found:
1.) When I use the install script, and I finally come to the point to set a root password, an endless loop of "passwd exec error" or something like that appears. To work around this I quit the install and simply used 'passwd root' to set a password, continued the install by restarting /arch/setup and proceeded with the install where it was interrupted.
2.) When installing GRUB I select the device where it should be installed, and I got a message that GRUB couldn't be installed. But actually it has been installed, because when booting the computer grub is different to the one I had before.
Is there a deadline when fixed/updated install images will be officially published? Would appreciate it, cause I have some machines which should be reusable in the next days.
Edit:
menu.lst / Archlinux entry
# (0) Arch Linux
title Arch Linux [/boot/vmlinuz26]
root (hd0,1)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/hda2 ro
initrd /boot/kernel26.img
PS: I mounted the Archlinux partition in Windows and looked for some Kernelimages lying around, beside vmlinuz I didn't find any.
