ncurses resizing issue

Hi! I seem to have a problem with my ncurses installation. The characters become jumbled and messed up whenever I resize a terminal. I'm certain that it's not the terminal or apps that are the problem (i've tried it with aterm, urxvt, rxvt, xterm, htop, moc, and bash all interchangeably). It doesn't work even if I resize the terminal back to its original state.

This is a problem because it never happened before on gentoo or ubuntu. I usually use urxvt, and whenever I resize something, it automatically reajusts everything. But that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Can anybody lend some advice as to what to do? Thanks a lot!
