Error while starting Compiz-Fusion

Hi Guys,

i installed compiz-fusion today on my notebook (using an ATI mobility radeon 9700). Everything worked fine.
Now i tried to start compiz unter xfce with the command "fusion-icon". Then i get the following error:

[root@r0xxb0xx ~]# fusion-icon
 * Detected Session: unknown
 * Searching for installed applications...
Backend     : ini
Integration : true
Profile     : default
Adding plugin decoration (decoration)
Initializing decoration options...done
 * No GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap with direct rendering context
 ... nor with indirect rendering, this isn't going to work!
 * Using the GTK Interface
 * Starting Compiz
 ... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp --indirect-rendering
compiz (core) - Fatal: No sync extension

I already tried the suggested solutions of the compiz-fusion wiki with reinstalling fglrx but i keep getting this error.

Any suggestions to fix this?

Re: Error while starting Compiz-Fusion

I think the bit relating to GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is what's causing your problem... check out the Compiz Fusion wiki for 2 workarounds:

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Compiz_Fusion

For the record, Method 1 did the trick for me...

Re: Error while starting Compiz-Fusion

Well the second solution for me didnt really work so i tried the second solution.

After running

LD_PRELOAD=/lib/mesa/libGL.so.1.2 compiz --replace &

i get the following error:

[root@myhost ~]# compiz (core) - Fatal: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

I got no clue how to fix this. I'm thankful for any sugesstions.
