Hi -
I thought the drive in my laptop (dell inspiron 6400) was dual layer, but I just look at specs on the websiteand they only mention 'double layer' in the specs (only dvd+r double layer, not dvd-r). Does this really mean I cannot burn dual layer discs?
If I can burn double layer discs, I suppose I have to turn over the disc and burn each side separately - has anyone done this in linux?
thanks, because I'm getting confused with this!

"Write DVD+R Double Layer | Max 6X"
Seems alright to me. Just avoid -R DL discs. Double layer means two layers on one side, so there's nothing to turn.

Why?

thanks for the reply -
so, I can buy a disc like this and burn 8.5g with my current drive?
if so, what exactly is the difference of double or dual layer?

Double, Dual, Duo, Two ... means all the same.
