System freeze

hi at all,
since i've installed the 2.6.19 kernel version, my system ramdomly freezes. I  noticed also that, arch freezes more frequently with a ck kernel.
The hardware is fine, windows goes perfectly. I think also that the freezes are related to the hard disk (sata). I tried appending to the kernel boot line "noacpi" and "earlymodules=piix" without any results.
I hope that someone could help me.
Thanks
bye

p.s. sorry for my bad english.

Re: System freeze

Have you tried pinging your system after it froze? Maybe it doesn't really freeze completely, just X (if you're using it).

Try to SSH into it, just to be sure.

Re: System freeze

I'm also getting freezing with the 2.6.19-ck kernel. Usually the system will release in a few seconds. On KDE, you can ctrl-alt-delete, then cancel to get everything to return to normal. But that's a hack.

Re: System freeze

I had the same problem. Turns out the memory was bad. (memtest86 may not pick it up - it didn't for me).
