New to Archlinux

Well, I'm new to Archlinux but not new to linux.  I must say - this has been the BEST experience I've ever had with a "rolling update" distribution EVER!  I'm 100% working in just an hour-and-a-half (that's everything even vpn'ing into work and such).  Great Job - bye-bye Ubuntu and Gentoo

Re: New to Archlinux

Welcome to the arch community. Arch is addictive. I have tried a few distro's since my first arch install. They did not last more than 2 days on my comp.

If you have any suggestions for improvement on install, let us know smile

I think sometimes the install step on arch is the biggest hurdle for new users, and it doesn't have to be that way.  We're all just so used to arch that new ideas for the installer are what "we" want, not necessarily what a new user of arch wants.  Though, it does sound like you had a good experience.

Re: New to Archlinux

The install was flawless and I love the installer.  I'm a HUGE fan of Gentoo; however, the turn-off there was the amount of time it took just to get a working system.  It seems as though the Archlinux folks have it figured out.  Awesome - so awesome I changed my home workstation and laptop over to it...
