hp pavilion ze4300 kernel panic

hi,

I tried to install arch linux "dont panic", on a hp pavilion ze4300 notebook and followed the beginners guide in the wiki.
while arch was booting rom cd i wondered why this took so long (about 5 minutes), but once booted the installation seemed to work fine,
after another long reboot the system hangs with a kernel panic and "kinit: Cannot open root device sda1(8,1)"...

i tried booting with acpi=off, no effect...

because the notebook is a bit old i tried to install 0.7.2 and this went absolutly fine, at the moment 072 is running
but of course i'd like to have some up to date software, without kernel panics.

i'm new to arch, hope somebody can help

Re: hp pavilion ze4300 kernel panic

thank you...

booting works now, but its still very slow... it has to have something to do with ata2 it often repeats: ata2: EH complete

Re: hp pavilion ze4300 kernel panic

has the irony of this bug (which affected me too) being in a release called "don't panic" been brought up?
