Sugestion about extra
Yes Arch is so sexy because of AUR. And AUR has so nice feature votes for packages.
So why extra repositories do not have wotes for them?
I know votes in extra will not have direct importance, but is is so fun when you look into program name it says nothing to you, but you see like 200 votes, and because of this you try it it and see how it is usefull/fun.
So I want to say that this feature whould be quite important for new people in ArchLinux.

I think the voting system in AUR is actually for moving the package from AUR to Community. I think, if I understand you correctly, you are suggesting more of a rating system. (?)

im sure most users , especially the new ones arent familiar with it but there is an archlinux project called archstats which does exactly that in another way plus much more
