FTP installation vs CD

It was always recommend to install through the ftp but ftp install is broken until a new snapshot is released.  What are the problems I would be dealing with later on when I do a base install at the moment?

Re: FTP installation vs CD

If I understand the question, doing a base install at the moment will give no problems you will be asked to upgrade pacman and it will automatically put core into the pacman directory and use it you just have to uncomment the mirror you want from /etc/pacman.d/core and thats it. And well remember if you are going to install from 2007.8.1 it is pretty broken, you should firt mount ramfs and then enter setup. Read the known issues on the directory that has the iso you are going to download from. wink
