can't adjust time with the gnome clock

hi, i've had this problem for a while but it's just bugging me.  usually if you right-click on the gnome clock there should be an option there that says "adjust date and time" but it's not there.  i know how to adjust the time in other ways but i want to be able to do it from there as it is really convenient, and i know i should be able to!

Re: can't adjust time with the gnome clock

Hi,

this is because the gnome-system-tools aren't installed on your system. That's even not possible in Arch at the moment, but I've seen somewhere here in the bbs that some people are working on this right now.

Re: can't adjust time with the gnome clock

Gnome system tools don't work on ArchLinux but it's not that hard to perform most operations from command line.
The easiest way is to run the following command in a terminal as root:
'date MMDDhhmm'
Change MM with month, DD with day, hh with hour and mm with minute.
After that, you can also sync your clock using ntpdate. For example 'ntpdate pool.ntp.org'

I suggest using, openntpd there is a wiki entry about hot to use it, that way you always have the clock/time set correctly.
