Video flickering with ati (fglrx)

Didn't find another thread with this problem so I thought I'll start a new one.

I have a problem with video playback. Regardless of the player software (mplayer, vlc), there is a horizontal glitch or flickering in the middle of the screen. I don't have this problem on my laptop, which also runs arch (but testing) and uses the i810-driver.

I've tried different video outputs in mplayer, vx, x11, gl and gl2. Its a little better with gl2 but still very annoying.

Does anybody else have this problem with the fglrx driver? If not, is it driver related or am I just doing something wrong?

Edit: one mor thing: it seems that this problem only exists when playing in fullscreen. It works alright when its in original scale.

Re: Video flickering with ati (fglrx)

I have the same problem, except it's only with the nvidia driver at fullscreen and the whole screen flashes black....

I'm going to eventually (when I'm not feeling lazy) try a vga cable instead of dvi to see if my dvi cable is the problem.
