package update statistics

are there any statistics how often a package is updated?
i always thought, the kernel26 packages is updated very often. now i installed git and there's a new version ready nearly everytime i do a "pacman -Syu".
i'm just interested in it. would also be an indicator how fast or slow arch develops. something like the average count of updates for all packages in core, extra and comunity per month or per week would give a comparable, demonstrative value for different periods.

No, there are no statistics.  Such statistics probably won't give any idea on Arch developpement as these packages updates are most likely upstream updates.  Some projects  release   minor updates  quite often while others are developped more slowly.

Except for kernel26, which seems to have a new release approximately every <insert amount of time it takes to recompile the kernel>. ;-) This is something that I find a bit annoying too, although Ignorepkg works wonders here.

sure, but i thought the intersection of all updates would give a nice comparable value. but not that important at all.
