From x86_64 to i686 without reinstallation?

Hi,

I have been running arch x86_64 for about 6 months now and have found that whilst I have no problems with the OS itself, the packages I need to run only come in i686 versions.

I was wondering if it were possible to recompile my system and have it be a i686 without having to reinstall everything again?

If this isn't possible, is there some way I can save my setup and then put it back on the newly compiled system?

With thanks

N

You will have to re-install everything to make the switch. There are a few threads around about backing up your configuration files and such to make the switch less painful.

There's another possible option thought. There are quite a few 32 bit packages for Arch 64 in community. With them you can get lots of stuff running. What program do you need to install?

I need to install the Coldfusion server together with flex.  I've gotten flash working using the 32bit libraries but haven't yet been able to get CF working.

That's certainly more challenging than anything I've tried. Hopefully someone here has the experience.
