Re: [SOLVED] Standby problem

The more info about your problem you provide the more likely that someone will be willing/able to help you.  What are you using to suspend?  Pm utils?  Custom script?  Any log files you could post?

Re: [SOLVED] Standby problem

Sorry, but my english is bad.
I followed this guide:

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Suspend_to_Disk

I installed kernel26suspend2 and hibernate-script

Re: [SOLVED] Standby problem

Try playing with vbetool settings in the common.conf configuration file - this is what worked on my old laptop with intel card:

This is from /etc/hibernate/common.conf:

### vbetool
EnableVbetool yes
#RestoreVbeStateFrom /var/lib/vbetool/vbestate
#VbetoolPost yes
RestoreVCSAData yes

# wake up the display using dpms
OnResume 50 xset -display :0 dpms force on
OnResume 50 /usr/bin/chvt 1 && /usr/bin/chvt 7

The above are specifically related to display not waking up problem - they worked for me, no idea if they will work for you, but it's a start.  I don't use 915resolution on my laptop (it's 1024x768), so I didn't enable the specific option for it in the common.conf file, but you might try uncommenting it if you're using 915resolution.  I hope this helps somehow.

Not work too.

I not use 915resolution, my resolution is 1280x800. I use the driver i810. When I press CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE several times, the display turn on

Re: [SOLVED] Standby problem

Anything happens if you try to change consoles after suspend (alt-f1, Alt-f2 and so on)...

The pm-utils support standby?

Re: [SOLVED] Standby problem

Sorry, I'm out of ideas. sad

In my case it took a lot of searching the internet and tweaking the hibernate-script settings before I got everything to work.  My first suggestion would be to try and search the internet for the model of your laptop and words like "suspend" "hibernate" etc. - maybe you'll find some pointers that way.

As for pmutils - I know it works for some people but I personally have never used it.  There should be a wiki page somewhere (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pm-utils - here actually) that explains how to set it up.

Pmutils and hibernate-script, at the end of the day, are just different interfaces for the same thing - ultimately you will need to know what needs to be done specifically for your laptop display to wake up after suspend, and once you know what it is you should be able to realize with either pm utils, hibernate scritps or custom scripts.

My suggestion would be to experiment some more with different settings available in the hibernate script before you try pmutils.  I very much doubt that pmutils will somehow just work, although such a possibility cannot be excluded.

Good luck, sorry I couldn't help in a more meaningful way.

Re: [SOLVED] Standby problem

In the GRUB config file (/boot/grub/menu.lst), add 'highres=off nohz=off' to your kernel line.

(The problem is due to a bug in the current kernel's new tickless stuff IIRC, or something like that. Disable it and it's fixed; you might also notice a slight performance improvement.)

Edit: this should be fixed in kernel 2.6.23, so try it without those boot options when that hits the repos...

Gullible.... now my gnome-keyring not save my password. I have put the password in networkmanager all times. It can be because of the configurations in grub?
