so my laptop.....i shut it down to come to a friends today to do some downloading. and my keyboard no longer works after logging in
i can get in teh system boot menu or navigate through the bios, i can type my password at the login screen, but after that, it quits working
at first, i thought maybe because my cat was sleeping on the keyboard last night. but then i realized i was able to type my password, and its not just some keys that dont work, none work
i havent dont any updates since the last time i was here to download, its been rebooted at least twice since and no problems until now. i did compile qpsp manager with qt4, but thats it
im using kdemod as well, if that helps at all. i can go to different runlevels from the login screen and login fine there and do whatever, but i dont know what to do to fix this. once i've logged into to my account, i cant switch runlevels anymore or anything
i looked at xorg and it still has a keyboard in there too, so im lost
any ideas?
edit///i just logged into the root account, and the keyboard works fine in there.....what would it be in my user foilder causing that?

nevermind guys, i fixed it
logged in to the root account since the keyboard was working there and cleared the contents on the folder /home/user/.kde/share. once i realized it was user specific, figured it had to be similar enough to windows that i could just restore settings for either desktop or a specific app, in this case kde. its working now
