Changing wallpapers on each desktop

Is there a way to make the wallpaper different on each workspace?  I've seen it done before. I'm using Openbox with a gnome panel.

Re: Changing wallpapers on each desktop

can only be done in KDE, although there is a program that puts images just above the root screen (above the actual wallpaper) making it look like you have different wallpapers. this is kinda slow, cause when changing workspace you see the original wallpaper for a sec or two before the picture above is seen.
have forgotten the name of that app, and can say that i tried it and wasnt satisfied.

i have been looking for the same thing as you but without success, the only option is KDE or the program that can put an image above the root screen.
if you find another solution, be sure to notify me smile

and sorry for my english smile im not native english speaking and im quite tired tongue

As for Gnome, there's a little app called Wallpapoz, but I don't think it will work on OpenBox, it's worth a try though... Check it out in AUR wink

Re: Changing wallpapers on each desktop

For fluxbox there's http://fluxspace.sourceforge.net/. Haven't tried it though, but if it's as hard to use (buggy) as fbdesk, I'm a bit hesitant.

It says on the page above that it works with fluxbox and other lightweight wm's. So perhaps it'll work on ob.
