hi everyone.
following the (excellent) wiki-pages, i managed to set up pm-utils so that pm-suspend and pm-hibernate work fine when i run the commands from the terminal (sudo pm-suspend / sudo pm-hibernate)
when i try to put my laptop into suspend mode by either pressing the assign shortcut (fn-f1) or via the gnome logout tab, I get an error message that there was a problem suspending the notebook.
my question: is it possible to tell gnome scripts to use pm-suspend/hibernate instead of whatever it tries to do as default? this is probably quite easy and i probably just didn't read something i should have, but it would be nice if anybody could lead me into the correct direction.

When you use gnome-power-manager and hal, pm-utils is used for suspend. I don't know what other thing you're using at this moment.

If you didn't do already, add your user to the "power" group. Then logout and relogin.
