so i got the powernow_k8 module working last night, not that it took alot of effort, just followed some info from the forum here and turned it on in my bios
but now that i have the frequency scaling working. im getting greedy and i want a system monitor or panel that will run in the corner of my desktop and show my current cpu speed, used memory, free memory, and hard drive and maybe network status. something like this
im using kde mod. i was toying with the panels that i had installed already, but couldnt find anything like that, there was one with a graph, but i really dont want graphs. anyone know of something similar? i saw some in the screenshots thread, but wasnt sure what they were. but i figured since some of you have them this would be a good place to ask
the smaller the download, the better, im on dialup.....and something with a guide on setting it up would be nice, im a bit of a newb after all

I think what he has in the link is gkrellm actually, though I can't tell, the linked image is really tiny.
Anyways, conky is much nicer, IMO ![]()

Have you looked into the SuperKaramba stuff? I have no idea if it has a 'integrated' thing like gkrellm.

i havent really tried anything, cept for the options i have when i right click on my main panel i can add a kasbar panel or whatever and a couple other ones.
i have no idea what the things you guys named are, but i take they're good ones to look into for a system monitor on my dekstop?
