MMORPG on linux!?

I know only about:
http://www.daimonin.net/
But this game is not my style; too complicated. I love MU online style games.
Can someone write links to more Linux MMORPG games?

I played Planeshift for a year or more(do not have time at the moment), it is really good, especially if you like roleplay!

The development is steady and there are many different guilds who are always looking for members.

Planeshift is free to play.
Planeshift rocks!

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

I like Dofus. The client is Flash, and I've run it on Arch before. The rates are cheap, too - 5 Euros a month. I still play, I just normally run it on my Mac instead (bigger screen).

I'm playing World of Warcraft... runs pretty well. Framerate is a bit lower then with win, but the latency is 20ms instead of 100-150 wich is awesome in PVP. big_smile

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

A friend of mine plays Fiesta Online. Though I don't know if it runs on linux, it's the MMORPG I'd play if I didn't know that I get as addictive as I got with playing World of Warcraft and if I had enough time.

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

I just installed regnum and it plays relatively smooth on my 1.3ghz pentium4 with 256mb ram (that's with an nvidia fx5700, though)
Nice game big_smile

I chose to be an archer there as well lol

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

I play World of Warcraft (though I'm not going to renew my subscription) and EVE Online (which is driving me crazy right now, definitely worth a trying).

Just an installer - they support Linux natively you just need to download and run their installer.

Kingdom of Loathing, though it might not be what you are expecting!

Edit: I play Warcraft btw, and I can attest to the low ping on linux, doesn't help my pvp skills though >.>

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

Eve-online [ http://www.eve-online.com ]
devs are currently working on an official Linux client
but the Windows client runs quite well under Wine/Cedega

(in fact, AFAIK, the linux client will basicaly be a repack of the windows client with integrated cedega libs)

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

Don't forget The Mana World, haven't played it much, but it's a MMORPG. Then there is a graphical rogue like one, called Crossfire, again, I haven't played it extensively, but it looks promising and complete (it's also recommended by the NetHack DevTeam).
Then I still have to install Auteria, which is a 3D MMORPG, I'm very curious about it, but I haven't got much time now.

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

Guild Wars runs quite well with a couple command-line tweaks.  I don't play it much anymore, though.  Free to play after the initial investment, plus whatever expansions you might decide you want.

Re: MMORPG on linux!?

I use it with WINE 0.9.44 and works flawlessy, apart from the sound which have to be disabled in order to make the client functioning as of now. Maybe future versions of WINE will fix that behaviour, but for now I can survive without it.

My client works at 1280x800 and I have no framerate problems at all.

It's quite sometime I don't use Cedega to run it, so I'll pass to someone better than me to explain the "Cedega experience" wink.

Tell me if you need some other informations.

Bye bye wink.
