use vlc with esd

i've a problem with vlc
if i use alsa as output driver for audio the sound is not very good
for ubuntu a solution was to use esd as output for audio

but in arch version of vlc i can't find esd in the audio options

ideas?

hi,
try recompiling vlc with the --enable-esd flag.
