ACPI Hungs on boot

Hello my friends

I recently tried to install Arch linux x64 on a new machine :

AMD64 x2 4400+
ABIT 32N Fatality Nforce 590
2GB Ram

When I boot the machine hungs . If I put acpi=off on kernel options then it starts OK

I had the same problem on Ubuntu LIve CD and Debian

I really dont know what to do.

The acpi service doesnt start ofcourse because it says that /proc/acpi cannot found

Is there something I can do ?

Thank you
