Gnome nautilus file browser
Is there a way to start file browser from Places in Gnome?
If I add folders to Places I get error "Could not open location 'file:///home/mrgreen/Downloads'" ?

Your nautilus bookmarks should automatically show up under the places menu. And you should be able to open them in your default file browser just fine, at least if that is what you mean ?
