Pallavi 0.6 beta 1 released

Hey all,

I wanted to let everyone know that Pallavi 0.6 beta 1 is out, and is begging for testing. This version supports multiple top-level views, which took a fair bit of structural changes and could have introduced some bugs that need stamping out. :-) Other useful features include an abbreviation plugin, commenting selected lines, joining selected lines, and indenting/dedenting selected lines.I think there's something else important too.

Pallavi usage is picking up: there were over 200 downloads in September and a lot of interest and feature requests, especially from the wxPython and pyxides communities. I suppose that sounds like bragging, but I only meant to say that its not a pet project anymore. :-)

For those that don't know, Pallavi is an extremely versatile and extensible fully customizable text editor that is meant to be able to satisfy the needs of any user from a simple note taking project to a full-fledged IDE (not quite there yet). It allows you to utilize those features you want without bloating the interface with the ones you have no interest in. Pallavi is coded in Python and utilizes the excellent wxPython toolkit.

Edit: Once again I forgot the link -- http://pallavi.sf.net/ screenshots at http://sourceforge.net/project/screensh … _id=167671
