audacity: failed to start

I have audacity 1.3.3 installed and it fails to start:

Expression 'paInvalidSampleRate' failed in 'src/hostapi/oss/pa_unix_oss.c', line: 1044
audacity: src/hostapi/oss/pa_unix_oss.c:1122: PaOssStream_Configure: Assertion `component->hostChannelCount > 0' failed.
Aborted

Anybody have same problem? Yes I'm using OSS. I also tried to compile 1.2.6 but failed on ./configure.

are you on arch64? I am having trouble with the arch64 build of 1.3.3

Works here. 32bit, Alsa with OSS emulation.

Thing is, I downloaded audacity 1.3.3 code and couldn't even find the file pa_unix_oss.c!

Do you have artsd running? Kill it. Or try to delete/move your ~/.audacity config.

Not running artsd. Removed ~/.audacity and still the same thing.
