Hi there!
I've got some strange problem with my quite new laptop (hp pavilion dv9040ea).
Sometimes when I try to boot my archlinux the boot process suddenly hangs up. This is the output at which the boot process stops:

This last sign is the blinking cursor. But from there on there is no possibility to write anything or do anything else than a manual shutdown with the off-button.
This problem occurs only randomly. Until some weeks ago it appeared only about one time on 20 boots, but now it comes even 6 times in a row until my laptop is able to boot properly. Has anyone an idea what the problem is and how I may solve it?
Greetings,
yaku

You could try booting with noapic appended to the kernel command-line but that will probably cause more issues than just random boot issues. This is a known and rather unsolved issue with newer HP laptops.

Ok, thanks.. I think I will have to leave it as it is.
