cd burning problem in nautilus; sd0; ide-scsi confusion

Hi,

Hope someone can help out quickly - I imagine that this is a stupid question, but I can't get it to work, so here we are...

/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom   iso9660   rw,user,noauto,unhide   0      0
ls -l /dev/cdrom
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 2007-10-19 04:56 /dev/cdrom -> /dev/cd/cdrom-sr0

I can't get my cd-burner to write at all.  In fact, can't get it to mount...

sudo mount /dev/cdrom
mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
       missing codepage or other error
       In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail  or so

Have been using arch for a little while now but this is the first time that I needed to burn a cd.  Help would be greatly appreciated as I am basically completely ignorant when it comes to this kind of hardware stuff.

Thanks?

Re: cd burning problem in nautilus; sd0; ide-scsi confusion

Thank you.  I did see that page, but somehow missed the important part at the bottom:

PATA and SATA problems around 2.6.20/2.6.21

I'll try the Configuring_mkinitcpio fix

Thanks again.
